Full speed ahead! Finally we are back into the project:

La Maison

The base down, next come the start of the walls:

And a bit more wall to first floor height:

And the lintels over the openings:

And then the beginnings of the outer stone skin:

Work here stopped at this point as we have to wait 5 weeks to get the quoining stone and lintels from the quarry! 5 weeks – ridiculous – we are clearly not priority despite my best efforts to get it quicker!

Dan then got to work making a suspended floor (pot and beam) in the chambre d'hote room so that the level would be the same as the rest of the house. Before he could do this he had to do the electrics and pipe work for the ensuite bathroom, downstairs loo and bedroom:

Work here stopped, as we are waiting to borrow a bigger cement mixer than Bèrnard who tells us that he has been signed off sick by the doctor with a bad back – I think he is faking it but Dan said he did look like he was in agony the other day!

Dan moved back to the Pigeonnier. Oak delivered:

Dan started chiseling mortice and ten??? joints:

Alice

As the French say:

“Elle pousse comme un champignon!” – literal translation, “she grows like a mushroom!“
