So not much happened this month on the work front…. I think we (Dan) laid another chestnut floor but we'll show that to you when it has been sanded etc..next month.
If you live in France , you have to make use of the facilities on your doorstep….so we went skiing this month!! Obviously not for fun but because many of our friends were hitting the slopes and it would have been rude not to go and visit them when they were in the same country or in some cases, the same continent.
So we visited Chris and Anna in La Plagne, my Mum and Wally and their friends in Les Arcs, before going on a road trip through Italy to Soll , Austria . In Soll, we spent a fab week with Michelle, Barry, Polly and Karen. Michelle wasn't skiing as she's pregnant (in case anyone didn't know) but she made up for it in the Karaoke stakes in the evening. Though, have to say the crowd stopper was Barry's rabbit by Chas and Dave!
On leaving Soll, we stopped for lunch in Lech – what a beautiful place and it was hot, before heading across to Switzerland . As night was drawing in we happened upon the shores of Lake Maggiore , Switzerland . Was it because I am a useless roadmap reader or was it purposeful on Dan's behalf?
We checked into (not our usual cheapo overnight stay) but a lovely hotel with a magnificent view of the lake. We had a fantastic 5 course meal where the renowned Swiss service exceeded itself. Stuffed full, we took a walk outside to look at the lake in the balmy moonlight, whereupon Dan suddenly popped the question. I (being over emotional) cried, in amongst my Oscar winning style acceptance speech…so there it was,
we are engaged
and v v happy about it. To be wed, assuming no hitches, Sept 15 th this year!!!!!!!!!!
Now v excited, we continued on to the three valleys, France , where we met my sister, Michelle and 3 of her friends. When we finally returned to Gaumier, we were far to excited to work, with only a few days to go before the end of the month….or at least, I was, I think Dan may have laid the floor then…not really sure!
With the wedding planners on board, in the form of Mum, Annette, Michelle and Aunty Rosemary, things on the wedding front seem to be shaping up beautifully…so unfortunately next month its back to work for me. Hmmm, what shall I be next month…I think I'll be a carpenter's apprentice!

As it's a short month, I thought you may like to see a few spring shots of the area:
